Downtown Parking Permits

Parking Permit Update

We’ve had a small delay with parking permits this year, and we want to share an update on what’s happening.

We have been working with local law enforcement regarding the difficulty of seeing our current parking passes, especially in vehicles with tinted windows. We researched several options to find a better solution and ultimately agreed that hanging parking tags will be the best option. We hope this will make permits much easier for our parking monitor to see.

At the same time, we are working to create an easier, more user-friendly way to order parking permits online. We’ve had to make some adjustments to how the forms are processed on our website, and we appreciate your patience as we work through these changes.

Your current parking pass will be extended through October 15, 2026. This will give everyone time to receive their new hanging tag.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to make the parking permit process easier for everyone!

About Our Parking Program

The Bemidji Downtown Alliance manages the parking program under agreement with the City of Bemidji. Our objective to this program is to move employee parking off the streets to make room for customers!

There is limited parking space for all of the employees, tenants, customers, and visitors of downtown Bemidji. We strive to distribute a very limited number of permits fairly and equitably to all.

Permits are reserved for businesses and organizations in August and BDA members receive priority consideration in parking lot selection during the reservation period. To become a member, click here.  All unsold permits are available to the general public.

In order to distribute available permits as fairly as possible, some lots limit how many permits we will sell to a single business. In addition, some lots in high demand and may sell out early in the year.
